Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Unlockt mobile application ("App") operated by Unlockt ("we", "our", or "us").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Unlockt. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

2. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account using a valid email address or a supported third-party login (Google, Apple). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.

3. Description of Service

Unlockt is a study productivity application that:

  • •Allows you to upload study materials for AI-powered quiz generation
  • •Uses Apple's Screen Time framework to restrict access to apps you select
  • •Unlocks restricted apps upon successful quiz completion (80%+ score)
  • •Tracks study sessions and academic goals

4. App Locking Feature

The app locking feature uses Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls framework) to restrict access to selected applications on your device. By enabling this feature, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • •You are voluntarily choosing to restrict your own access to certain apps
  • •App restrictions can be removed by passing the associated quiz or through your device's Screen Time settings
  • •We are not responsible for any inconvenience caused by app restrictions you have enabled
  • •In case of emergency, you can always access essential device functions (phone calls, messages, etc.)

5. User Content

You retain all rights to the study materials you upload. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely for the purpose of generating quizzes within the App. We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for any purpose other than providing our services to you.

You represent that you have the right to upload any content you submit and that such content does not infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights.

6. AI-Generated Content

Quiz questions are generated using artificial intelligence. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies. Unlockt is a study aid and should not be used as the sole source of academic preparation. We do not guarantee specific academic outcomes or GPA improvements.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • •Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • •Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features
  • •Upload malicious content or content that violates others' rights
  • •Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • •Use automated systems or bots to interact with the App

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by Unlockt and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our express written consent.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Your use of the App is at your sole risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Unlockt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, academic performance, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the App.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately, and all app restrictions set through Unlockt will be removed.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other means. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
